Ismael Bastida, DDS

Dr. Ismael Bastida, DDS, is an accomplished and skilled dentist, dedicated to providing a variety of dental services to his patients at The Bastida Dental Group, his New York City practice in the heart of Elmhurst in Queens. Known for his caring and compassionate nature and sound surgical skills, he enjoys creating and maintaining beautiful smiles.

Previously, Dr. Bastida graduated from La Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and completed his dental training at New York University College of Dentistry.

With more than 25 years in practice, he has extensive expertise in the treatment, planning, and surgical placement of dental implants and has received a Fellowship Diploma in Implants from the American Dental Implant Association. Dr. Bastida is also certified in implants by IMTEC and Ortho Technology and also holds a certificate in orthodontics by the American Orthodontic Society (AOS).

For Dr. Bastida, his patients always come first and he has been recognized several times by the American Dental Association (ADA) for his academic excellence and dedication to his profession and the people he serves. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

He is also an avid reader and likes to read about recent advances in dentistry and biographies of famous people. His love for Mexico and Mexican culture inspired him to be the founder of the magazine México Magia y Cultura and he also leads and produces many radio programs aired in New York City.

When he’s not with his patients, Dr. Bastida also enjoys playing tennis and boxing. He also likes to vacation with his family and enjoys learning about red wine. He is a music lover and loves different music genres, especially jazz, bossa nova, and classical.

Jason Bastida, DDS

Skilled at making patients comfortable and treating them like a family member, Dr. Jason A. Bastida, DDS, is a welcome addition to our team.

Dr. Bastida graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in biology and B.A. in French. He returned home and subsequently received his Doctor in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City.

Following his training at Columbia, he completed a one-year general practice residency (GPR) at NYU Winthrop Hospital’s Center for Family Dental Medicine on Long Island. During his residency, he received training in all phases of general and restorative dentistry including endodontics, periodontics, placement of dental implants, and pediatric dentistry.

Having qualifications from the National Dental Boards and American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX). Dr. Bastida is an active member of numerous national and local dental associations, including the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and Hispanic Dental Association (HDA).

Dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest advances in dentistry, Dr. Bastida has completed extensive continuing education courses in the areas of maxillofacial surgery, cell regeneration, implant therapy, and Invisalign® clear aligners. He has been involved in medical research in collaboration with the New York State Psychiatric Institute and has given presentations at various conferences and symposiums on his research. He also received numerous scholarships and awards while working towards his dental degree.

A family dentist who welcomes patients of all ages, Dr. Bastida takes pride in the volunteer work he has done as a translator and dentist in various community dental clinics, assisting patients from diverse backgrounds. He is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in French and Portuguese so that he can attend to patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

When he is away from dentistry Dr. Bastida enjoys being an avid sports fan including his passionate support for the New York Mets and the North Carolina Tar Heels. A (very) amateur runner Dr. Bastida can be found most weekends and evenings running around New York City, literally, training for his next race.


Hygienist


Richel Palisoc, RDH

A graduate of NYU’s dental hygiene program, Richel is an Elmhurst native with a passion for the Queens food scene. When she’s not seeing patients she’s hanging out with her Yorkie, Enzo, biking around the city, or attending Jiu-Jitsu class. Richel is fluent in English, Tagalog, and Spanish.
